Sophomore third baseman Melissa O'Connor and senior pitcher Andrea Messina were named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Northeast Region's second team.

O'Connor started all 44 games and emerged as the Hawks' leadoff batter, hitting an even .300 with five doubles, two triples, one home run, and 15 RBI. Messina pitched 17 complete games and logged 147.2 innings with 171 strikeouts and just 14 walks. She was named to the Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll six times and Pitcher of the Week twice. Messina also set the school's all-time strikeout mark this year and ends her career with 666 Ks.

O'Connor joined three other members of the Saint Anselm College softball team who were named to the All-Northeast-10 Conference teams. O'Connor and sophomore outfielder Maria Lisa Marciano were named to the conference's second team and senior first baseman Kristen Haubrich and senior center-fielder Allison Pearson were named to the conference's third team.

Marciano had a solid year at the plate, starting 42 games and hitting .281 with six doubles, one home run, and a team-leading 17 RBI.

Haubrich, a first team all-conference and All-New England selection last year, was on track to repeat before a serious finger injury ended her season early. She still tied for second on the roster with a .314 batting average.

Pearson was a defensive standout anchoring a strong outfield corps with five outfield assists. Offensively she had 28 hits with 10 RBI and a team-leading 10 stolen bases.

Two Hawks tennis players earned All-Northeast-10 accolades. Senior Michael Besserer earned third team honors at No. 2 Singles while freshman Nathan Pasay earned third team honors at No. 4 Singles.

Besserer posted a 10-4 overall record that included an 8-3 mark in conference play. He ended the regular season on a six-match winning streak in singles play.

Pasay played at both the third and fourth flights this season but earned four wins in fourth singles to earn his place on the all-conference team at that position.
