Finding Family

Davia Rogers and Raenielle DeCastro-Cain Saint Anselm was the site of an impromptu family encounter last fall, as two cousins met for the first time. Freshman basketball player Davia Rogers, of St. Thomas, U.S.V.I, and Raenielle DeCastro-Cain, of Manchester, Conn., met during orientation, discovering not only family ties but common interests.

Both came to Saint Anselm with no previous connection to the college, but seeking a challenging curriculum and small community. They found both, and by coincidence, they also share a major in biology and have plans to work in healthcare. They've spent freshman year as neighbors in Joan of Arc Hall, but plan to spend next year as roommates.
