New Trustees Join Board

Three new members joined the college's Board of Trustees recently: Richard L. Bready '65, Daniel T. Flatley, and Thomas A. Melucci Sr.

Richard Bready is chairman and chief executive officer of Nortek, Inc., a diversified Rhode Island-based company with principal activities in manufactured products for industrial and consumer use. A graduate of Saint Anselm College, Bready earned a master's degree from Northeastern University. He also holds an honorary degree from Johnson and Wales University and has served on a number of not-for-profit boards, including Roger Williams University.

Thomas Melucci is a Rhode Island businessman and entrepreneur. Formerly in the fabric finishing business, Melucci now works as head of a subsidiary of Nortek, Inc. Melucci graduated from Saint Raphael Academy in Rhode Island and attended the University of Miami (Fla.).

In 1988, in a tragic turn of events, his eldest son, Thomas Jr., was killed in an automobile accident just days before graduating from Saint Anselm College. In his memory, Mr. and Mrs. Melucci worked to create an endowed scholarship for students. Thomas Melucci remains actively involved with Saint Anselm and has received an honorary degree from the college.

A project manager for The Flatley Company, Daniel Flatley formerly worked at Boston College as a research professional in the Development Office. In the last few years he has become involved with Saint Anselm College, attending a number of events, including the CEO Breakfast Series. Flatley is a graduate of the University of Vermont and Boston College, where he earned a master's degree in education. He has served on the boards of the Wentworth Institute of Technology and the Marge Crispin Social Services Center in Braintree, Mass.
