With nearly 10 years in nursing, Kelly (Smith) Papa ’97, has also developed skills in management and teaching. Now a clinical educator at the McLean Nursing Facility in Simsbury, Conn., she has published an inservice training guide for nurses who care for patients with long-term needs such as spinal cord injury, Lou Gherig’s Disease, and M.S.

She is also the advisor for an online newsletter for long-term care nurses. The newsletter and the training guide, Strategies for Effective Staff Education , are products of HCPro, a health care publisher and training company in Marblehead, Mass. Papa is pursuing a master of science degree at Saint Joseph’s College in West Hartford, Conn.
