Tony Blankley, public policy strategist and former advisor to Newt Gingrich will offer a lecture, titled A Year out from the 2010 Congressional Elections—National Politics, Policy and their Communication. Blankley will assess the effect President Barack Obama’s initiatives and image, together with the Democratic and Republican responses, might have on election results in next year’s congressional races.

Blankley is currently the executive vice president for global affairs at Edelman, the world’s largest independent public relations firm. Prior to joining Edelman, he worked with The Washington Times and Speaker Newt Gingrich, whom he served as press secretary. He has commented on a wide variety of public policy issues for editorial pages, talk radio and television.

Blankley is also affiliated with The Heritage Foundation as a Visiting Senior Fellow in National Security Communications, and he is the author of The West’s Last Chance: Will We Win the Clash of Civilizations.

This event will be held in the NHIOP auditorium. It is free and open to the public.
