History of the New Hampshire Primary
December 6, 2007
Time: 10:45 a.m.
The Politics Department, N.H. Primary Class (PO 446), and the Center for New Hampshire Politics and Civic Life invite you to attend a poster session exhibition titled "The History of the New Hampshire Primary." The opening reception is Thursday, December 6, from 10:45 a.m. to noon in Davison Hall. Refreshments will be served.
Come learn about the history of the New Hampshire primary through student exhibits on important primaries since 1952. As we prepare for the earliest primary in New Hampshire’s history, we take a look back on why the New Hampshire primary has been so important. Why was 1968 a turning point? What happened when Muskie cried in 1972? Why did Reagan say “I paid for this microphone!” in 1980? What happened at Saint Anselm College in 1988? How did Bill Clinton become “the comeback kid” in 1992? The answers to these questions, and much, much more will be on display in Davison Hall. Student exhibitors will be available to present their findings and answer questions during the opening reception.
