Administrative Assistant II - Communications and Marketing
Full-time opportunity for experienced Administrative Assistant for the Office of College Communications and Marketing. Duties will include telephone reception, maintaining files, drafting letters, proofreading, scheduling appointments, organizing mailings, maintaining constituent contact lists, data entry and database management. The successful candidate also provides editorial support for Portraits magazine and assistance at special College events as part of the communications team. Flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends required.

Associates degree or a combination of education and related experience required.  Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to coordinate multiple projects and demands.  Must be computer proficient and possess a broad knowledge of software programs, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to handle multiple projects with interruptions in a fast-paced environment is essential. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to interact well with a variety of individuals, including members of the media, faculty, staff and students.


Assistant Director, Annual Giving
Under the supervision of the Director of Annual Giving, the Assistant Director of Annual Giving
coordinates and carries out the cultivation and solicitation of unrestricted annual fund donors,
particularly guiding the reunion fundraising efforts through the development of a Class Agent
system.  Additionally, the Assistant Director recruits and works with volunteers, including class
agents, reunion gift chairs and gift committee members, and with staff including the Alumni Office.  A primary focus of the position is to manage phonathons including recruiting, training, and scheduling student callers; arranging facilities; and preparing and organizing all necessary materials.

A creatively entrepreneurial approach will be needed to effectively solicit and support reunion classes to ensure all members are solicited at appropriate levels.  In order to increase participation and dollars to The Saint Anselm Fund, the assistant director must thrive on soliciting alumni, parents and friends, thereby building relationships involving high levels of contact inside and outside of the College. 
Bachelor’s degree required along with sufficient experience in higher education fundraising or comparable work to quickly assume the role of an annual giving gift officer.  Excellent writing, communication and customer relations skills required; ability to ask for contributions is essential  as well as the ability to accurately record prospect tracking records and reports. Raiser’s Edge experience preferred.  Must be able to deal effectively with and represent the college to a wide range of individuals/groups within and outside of the college.  Ability to travel and work nights and weekends as required.  The successful candidate will be an energetic and effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills. 


Assistant Football Coach (Part-Time)
Part-time positions are currently available in the Athletic Department. The assistant coach is responsible for participating in the supervision and direction of all aspects of team functions. Specific duties will include on-field coaching; assisting in practice preparation, recruiting and scouting. Other areas of responsibility will be assigned by the head coach. In addition, the assistant coach must become familiar with, adhere to, and enforce all the policies and procedures of the Athletic Department and Saint Anselm College, as well as the rules and regulations of the NCAA, ECAC, NE-10, and any other authorities that affect the intercollegiate athletic program.

Qualifications include a bachelor's degree, two to four years college playing experience (Division 1 preferred) and one or more years coaching experience or four years varsity high school coaching experience. The successful candidate will also have good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.


Biology Laboratory Instructor/Assistant
Saint Anselm College invites applications for a non-faculty, part-time, laboratory instructor for the 2008-2009 academic year. The department is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who will work closely with supervising faculty to help teach laboratory sections in General Biology and Human Anatomy and Physiology courses. The laboratory instructor will also assist the laboratory supervisor with the organization, set-up and break-down of laboratory materials for teaching laboratories.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and prior experience in the Anatomy and Physiology laboratory. Must have ability to adapt quickly to changes in daily tasks, ability to respond to requests from multiple parties, be detail oriented, and possess exceptional organizational skills. A basic knowledge of solution preparation a plus.


Computer Systems Programmer/Analyst
Full-time Programmer/Analyst for Department of Information Technology.  This position will perform a wide range of computer programming and systems analysis, and design functions.  Will research and analyze data processing needs and resources related to the function for which computer system is to be developed, modified, or upgraded.  Maintain a good working knowledge of the overall purpose of a particular function and its daily operations.  Responsibilities will also include recommending appropriate technical solutions to data processing needs; will demonstrate expertise with software used, design and document computer systems and data processing procedures, test new systems, and produce reports.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other appropriate discipline, plus 2 –4 years of relevant data processing, programming, and systems analysis/design experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.  A broad base of technical knowledge and skills in data processing, programming, systems analysis and design and computer operations and an ability to write advanced structured query language statements for data manipulation and extraction are required.  Familiarity with UNIX platform is a plus, to include RCS, and make. Familiarity with Jenzabar CX, JICS, CX Connect, Informix, Cognos reporting tools preferred. Programming experience in C and Perl is a plus. Also requires good organizational and communications/interpersonal skills as well as the ability to multitask.



Custodian/Housekeeper - Full Time
Full-time position available immediately for the daytime shift. Duties involve general cleaning of an assigned campus building.  Applicants should have the ability to lift heavy equipment such as a vacuum cleaner or floor buffer (l5-30 lbs.). Must have the ability to understand and follow written instructions, chemical labels and warnings.
 
High school education desirable.  General knowledge and skills related to routine housekeeping & maintenance work, with commercial/instutional cleaning experience desirable. Related experience in similar workplace setting a plus.


Director, Annual Giving
We are seeking an organized, creative and enthusiastic supporter of undergraduate liberal arts education in the Catholic, Benedictine tradition to oversee The Saint Anselm Fund in a collaborative fundraising/alumni relations environment. The Saint Anselm Fund raises almost $2.5 million annually including five and six figure gifts from identified prospects. Strategic oversight, planning and management of The Saint Anselm Fund includes reunion giving; senior class giving; phonathons; young alumni participation; volunteer recruitment, training and management within a class agent system; staff management; and support and solicitation of high-end donors and volunteers to ensure a strong effort of leadership giving within The Fund.
 
The Director works closely and collaboratively with all gift officers, the Assistant Vice President for Alumni Relations and the Director of Development Operations – the latter responsible for creating and implementing a direct mail program in support of The Saint Anselm Fund. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for College Advancement, the Director serves as a member of the advancement management team.  The Director must thrive on soliciting alumni, parents and friends for gifts while away from the office.

Bachelor's degree required, Master’s Degree preferred; along with three to five years of relevant fundraising experience, management/administrative experience and project management experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired. Excellent writing, communication and customer relations skills required; ability to ask for contributions is essential. Must possess a broad base of general knowledge and skills in fundraising, with related experience in annual giving programs desirable, including volunteer recruitment and management. Some budget management experience desirable along with experience using standard business software. Must be able to deal effectively with and represent the college to a wide range of individuals/groups within and outside of the College. The successful candidate will be an energetic, effective communicator, speaker and manager with exceptional strategic, analytical, leadership, creative and interpersonal skills.


Head Coach - Women's Ice Hockey
We are seeking a head coach to direct and manage the intercollegiate women’s ice hockey program at Saint Anselm College. Reporting to the director of athletics, the coach will plan, supervise, coordinate, and carry out a full range of services and activities related to administering the women’s ice hockey program. Recruit student athletes; meet with students, parents, coaches, guidance counselors and others regarding the college athletic and academic programs, organize and conduct practice sessions, coach games, ensure compliance with all NCAA, ECAC, NE-10 and Saint Anselm College rules and regulations. The coach will monitor and evaluate the academic and social progress of student athletes and the coach will exemplify the finest qualities of good sportsmanship and ethical conduct at all times.

Bachelor's degree in physical education or related discipline, with 3 to 5 years of college or professional playing experience plus 4 to 6 years of relevant coaching experience, or a combination of comparable education and experience required. Must have the ability to deal effectively with students, faculty, staff, parents, the media, and others inside and outside of the college in carrying out the administrative, recruitment, coaching and public relations aspects of the job. Library Technical Assistant I (Part-Time)
Part-time evening and Library Assistant needed for the Geisel Library. Work approximately 12 to 23 hours per week during the academic year providing assistance in the circulation and periodicals departments. Duties include charging out library materials, shelving, training and supervision of students.

Associate degree plus one to two years experience or equivalent education and experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Good office skills and familiarity with college library systems required; experience with online library circulations systems highly desired. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to public services are essential.
