Saint Anselm College to Host Primary and General Election Debates
Manchester, N.H. - WMUR-TV and the New Hampshire Union Leader will produce nine debates from the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm this fall. These debates, entitled "The Granite State Debates," will each last one hour and will be moderated by a WMUR anchor, featuring questions from WMUR and Union Leader journalists. The debates will include candidates in the gubernatorial, U.S. Senate and two congressional district races.
Members of the media are welcome to cover these debates in a press room in the institute, but will not be permitted in the auditorium where the debates will be held. A closed circuit video feed of the debates will be available to journalists, and a multi-box will also be provided for those interested in an audio/video feed. Photographs will be made available through a pool photographer. The press room is equipped with wireless Internet access. In addition, following each debate the institute's television studio will be available for candidates who wish to meet with the press.
Requests for media credentials for the primary debates (see schedule below) must be sent to Barbara LeBlanc (bleblanc@anselm.edu) no later than Tuesday, Aug. 31. Please include each reporter's name, title, organization, phone number, e-mail, and supervisor's name and contact information.
A schedule of debates to be held prior to the general election is included with this advisory for your information only. A separate coverage advisory for those debates will be issued at a later date.
