After Graduation, What Next?
Students work with their faculty advisor and the Career Development Center to find and pursue career opportunities. This is an exciting time to have successfully completed a Computer Science degree. Our curriculum prepares graduates to obtain career placements across the computer science industry. Our graduates are well positioned to pursue careers ranging from system and software development, cybersecurity and web design. Graduates have gone on to accept jobs at Microsoft, Google, Fidelity, DEKA, Chordiant (now Pega Systems), NTP Software, Meditech, Ektron, Saint Anselm College, OCDTech, PinPoint Global Communications, Rapid 7 Cybersecurity, Amazon, Eastern Bank, Altoros, and Trimble Inc., ThreatX along with many others.
Employment of computer and information technology occupations is projected to grow 12 percent from 2018 to 2028, much faster than the average for all occupations. These occupations are projected to add about 546,200 new jobs. Demand for these workers will stem from greater emphasis on cloud computing, the collection and storage of big data, and information security.
The median annual wage for computer and information technology occupations was $88,240 in May 2019, which was higher than the median annual wage for all occupations of $39,810(1).
