On Saturday, April 25, the following letter was sent to the admitted students of the class of 2024 by Saint Anselm College President Joseph A. Favazza, Ph.D.

Dear admitted students and families,

Today we wish to share the view from the Hilltop, where plans are underway for the 2020-2021 school year at Saint Anselm College.

We are excited for the return to our beautiful campus this fall so our students may engage in the many academic, athletic and service opportunities that are part of our transformative educational experience.

I have witnessed our Benedictine values on display in this difficult time, from our alumni nurses, doctors and health care professionals on the front lines; to our students finding innovative ways to maintain their connection and engagement with the greater Manchester community; to the kindness of those who have given generously to the Anselmian Student Relief Fund to support those in need. The character of our community has been inspiring and we look forward to you joining our Anselmian family this fall.

The character of our community has been inspiring and we look forward to you joining our Anselmian family this fall.

Of course, the outbreak of COVID-19 brings uncertainties, so we are planning how we will respond quickly and effectively to any resurgence of the virus, including alternative start dates for the semester, adjustments to class sizes for in-person instruction, and social-distancing guidelines. Our objective has been and will continue to be to maintain the safety of our campus community while maximizing on-campus curricular and extra-curricular activities.

Since before this health threat emerged in the United States, our team has made prudent and proactive decisions based on state and federal guidelines, and our situational awareness of both New Hampshire in general and our campus in particular. We continue to act in the best interest of our community and we are confident that our comprehensive planning for this fall and beyond will allow us to provide an education that prepares students for lives of meaning, leadership and achievement.

To be sure, these few months have tested the character and resolve of us all. Here at Saint Anselm, our students, faculty, staff and monastic community have passed the test with flying colors. We are emerging a stronger, smarter and more supportive community than ever before.

We invite you to take a virtual tour of campus here and to learn more about how Saint Anselm has responded to COVID-19 by visiting www.anselm.edu/coronavirus.
