Career Chat LIVE TechSavvy: Opportunities in STEM Organizations for Liberal Arts Students
October 28, 2020 |
Join our employer partners, alumni, career center staff, and fellow students at Career Chat LIVE, where we will talk about careers in the technology sector. Known for innovation and growth, working in the tech space can be exciting, rewarding, and lucrative. Job growth continues to skyrocket in roles involving programming and data analytics. But what about positions that don’t require coding? How can students from other disciplines in the liberal arts or business tap into this field? We’ll hear from our panelists about the various types of roles managers hire for within a tech organization. And we’ll learn how transferable skills gained from a liberal arts education such as critical thinking and communications are sought after in these environments. We’ll also learn what additional skills and competencies students should familiarize themselves with to succeed in this industry.
Students will have the opportunity to pose questions and those who wish may speak one-on-one with our panelists in the breakout room after the discussion to continue the conversation.
Career Chat LIVE programs will be recorded and accessible for viewing in Handshake after the session.
