La Haine by Mathieu Kassovitz depicts 24 hours in the life of three friends (one black, one Arab and one Jew), who live in the Paris suburbs right after a violent riot. They are full of hated (Haine means hatred) against the police but merely against a society where social justice has no place.

Shown in French with English subtitles.

Viewer’s discretion is advised: Rated "R" for violence, drug use, brief nudity, and strong language throughout.
