September 14, 2018

The New Hampshire Institute of Politics (NHIOP) and the Kevin B. Harrington Student Ambassadors’ Civic Engagement Committee are hosting a series of events to celebrate citizenship and the anniversary of the ratification of the U.S. Constitution.

The Civic Engagement Committee, a group of 25 ambassadors led by co-chairs Melanie Fey ‘20 and Ray Portu '20, plans nonpartisan programs to help students understand voting, learn about issues, develop citizenship skills, and turn out at the polls.

“The Civic Engagement Committee is proud to announce all of the events we have planned to educate and engage the community on the importance of civic duty, and celebrate the constitution,” shared Fey.

The celebration of citizenship will span a two week period, beginning with Constitution Day on September 17 and concluding with a naturalization ceremony on September 28. Events are open to members of the Saint Anselm College community and will allow attendees to reflect on their rights and responsibilities as U.S. citizens at a time when constitutional issues frequently confront the nation.
