NHIOP Bookmark Series: “GOP 2.0: How the 2020 Election Can Lead To A Better Way Forward for America’s Conservative Party” Geoff Duncan, Lt. Governor of Georgia.
A former professional baseball player and successful entrepreneur, Geoff Duncan was elected as Georgia’s Lieutenant Governor against all odds. Since his inauguration in January of 2019, he has established himself as a bold leader and champion for healthcare, technology, and economic development. His business experience and outlook allow him to bring a common sense private sector approach to state government.
During Georgia’s 2020 legislative session, Lt. Governor Duncan was instrumental in building a historic bi-partisan coalition, which resulted in the passage of Georgia’s Hate Crimes Law. Prior to running for Lieutenant Governor, Geoff served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 2012 to 2017.
Mr. Duncan joins the Institute as part of our Bookmark Series to discuss his recent book, “GOP 2.0” and the PET Project: creating better Policy, Empathy, and Tone within the Republican Party as a ‘better way forward.’
During his time as a scholarship pitcher at Georgia Tech, Geoff had the pleasure of heading to New England to play for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox in the Cape Cod Baseball League. He was then drafted by the Miami Marlins’ organization where he spent 6 seasons playing in the minor leagues including parts of three seasons for the Portland Sea Dogs.
