The Career Development Center is Preparing for a Semester of Events
October 4, 2019
The Career Development Center at Saint Anselm College is preparing for its lineup of fall events and offering a plethora of resources for students to utilize during their time on the Hilltop. From creating a resume to teaching cover letter writing, the CDC is there to help students beginning in their freshman year.
In addition to resumes and cover letter assistance, the CDC has a lot to offer, such as the career management system, Handshake. Similar to LinkedIn, through Handshake students can create their own profiles, upload resumes, and apply for internships and full-time jobs. Handshake also allows students to view and register for upcoming career events and fairs.
On Wednesday, Oc. 23, the Career Development Center is holding the 2019 Internship and Job Fair in the Carr Center from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saint Anselm College will be welcoming over 50 employers from different disciplines including law enforcement, professional sports, and non-profits. Business attire is recommended but not mandatory and the CDC also recommends that attendees bring resumes. There will also be the chance for students to get personal headshots taken to utilize on Handshake and LinkedIn.
To help students prepare for the 2019 Internship and Job Fair, the CDC has drop-in hours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 1 – 3 p.m., no appointment necessary. Unable to make it to drop-in hours? Students can schedule an appointment that fits their schedule through Handshake.
The Career Development center also provides individual career advising, major selection assistance, interview preparation, and other various assistance in helping students find a career post-graduation.
