Dear Alumni and Friends,
As you know, our students are returning to the Hilltop this week. Our decision to reopen was based on considerable preparation and investment in resources to ensure our community remains safe, and we are excited for the reimagined semester that is beginning with the first day of classes Aug. 19.
We are writing today because we need your help with a key element of our plans. The college has implemented a temporary policy restricting guests from campus. Until further notice, anyone who is not a current Saint Anselm student, employee or member of the Benedictine community is asked to refrain from coming to the college.
There will be a few exceptions whereby visitors are invited to campus under particular circumstances. In these instances, the gatherings will be limited in size, time and location. Unfortunately, most of our alumni programming for the fall has been postponed, including the Alumni Awards Dinner and Homecoming Weekend. The College Advancement Office continues to offer virtual programming and is working on opportunities for alumni to connect with the campus and our students virtually.
Of course, we realize you are not an “outsider” to our community – far from it. Our 20,000-plus alumni are a vital part of our Anselmian family and we look forward to seeing you in person very soon. For now, however, we ask that you help us protect those who live and work on the Hilltop by allowing them to be a “family unit” in the spirit we have all come to embrace in response to COVID-19.
Please know that all of our alumni and friends continue to be in the thoughts and prayers of our entire campus community.
