With the spring semester in full swing, the Career Development Center (CDC) has several events lined up to assist students in obtaining internships, jobs, and other opportunities. The largest of these events is the 44th Annual New Hampshire College and University Council (NHCUC) Career Fair, which takes place on Thursday, April 12 from 2 – 5 p.m. in Saint Anselm College’s Sullivan Ice Arena.

More than 85 employers from a variety of industries will be in attendance to speak with students about internship and job opportunities available at their organizations including City Year, Eastern Bank, Elliot Health System, FBI Boston, NH State Police, Office of U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan, The New England Center for Children, Transportation Security Administration (TSA/DHS), and WB Mason. For the complete and most up-to-date list of employers visit

The NHCUC is a collection of public and private institutions whose mission is the advancement of higher education in New Hampshire. The annual career fair is the largest of its kind in New England, with attendees from 21 schools.

Last year, there were over 100 organizations offering opportunities for post-college career growth present. The CDC encourages all students regardless of their class year to attend the event to network, job and internship search, and/or become familiar with industries and organizations.

The Career Fair will offer a LinkedIn Photo Booth for professional headshots. There will also be three stations staffed by career professionals to help students with “Developing an Elevator Pitch,” “Career Fair Follow-up,” and a “First-Time Tours” for students who have never attended a career fair.

In preparation for the event, CDC staff will hold extended evening drop-in hours on Monday, April 9 and Tuesday, April 10, from 5 – 7 p.m. in the Coffee Shop. These will be in addition to normally scheduled drop-in hours (Tuesdays 1 – 4 p.m. in the Coffee Shop and Wednesdays 1 – 4 p.m. in Davison). Students are encouraged to wear professional attire and bring multiple copies of their resume to the fair.In addition to the NHCUC Career Fair, the CDC has a number of other April events.

On April 5, representatives from the financial organization Northwestern Mutual will be on campus to answer questions and even provide interviews for certain positions. Later in the month, Lindy Evans, director of executive compensation at technology and defense leader Raytheon, will offer drop-in hours and insight on how to transition from college student to employee within specific career interest.

The CDC offers a wide range of resources to further students’ higher education and preparation for the workforce, ranging from helping with resumes and cover letters, to offering individual career advising, or providing networking opportunities with employers and alumni.
