Meet Our Anselmians
"I believe with all my heart that today’s world needs Saint Anselm College, a place that is infused with the Catholic and Benedictine values of community, hospitality and love, where the humanities, arts and sciences and professional programs like nursing, criminal justice and business build on our liberal arts core rather than compete with it. We need a place where you don’t have to choose between career outcomes and life outcomes. That place is Saint Anselm."
In the classroom and in the community, an Anselmian education will challenge you to find your best self.

"The first program in women’s studies in the United States was approved at San Diego State University in 1970. Saint Anselm College also is celebrating the 50th anniversary of women at the college this year. It is nice to know that our college joined this major change of increasing the access of women to education."

Program Description:
Powerful writing has the ability to shape perspectives and drive change. In this dynamic six-week workshop, you will engage in both group and one-on-one sessions in order to immerse yourself in the art of persuasive op-ed and opinion writing. You’ll have an opportunity to learn from nationally recognized experts in writing and editing, including being able to ask questions about your work. Ten participants will work directly with Trent Spiner, an editor-in-chief and former national political reporter, in one-on-one sessions designed to help you craft and publish an op-ed on a topic of your choice. This class will be a journey to craft impactful narratives that inspire meaningful action in your community. All classes will be conducted via Zoom.
What You'll Gain:
- Develop, write, and pitch at least one compelling op-ed.
- Group classes focused on brainstorming, drafting, and pitching op-eds.
- Facilitated conversations and Q&A sessions with op-ed experts.
Participants will also receive individualized coaching sessions for hands-on writing, editing and pitching to media outlets. Those include:

Dr. Richard Hark, a conservation scientist at Yale's Institute for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage, will discuss how our appreciation of a work of art is highly influenced by the lens through which we view it. Using examples drawn from the collections at Yale and the Victoria and Albert Museum, his presentation will describe the analytical tools that were used to coax objects into revealing their secrets.
Elsa Voelcker will discuss her photography retrospective, The Intimacy of Seeing, including what first drew her to the medium of photography, and how it has changed since she began. Please join us for this special opportunity to engage in conversation with the artist, and to gain insights into her techniques, motivations, and accomplishments. Light refreshments will be served.

The Stations of the Cross, also known as the Way of the Cross and the Way of Sorrow (Via Crucis in Latin), detail fourteen different moments on the day Jesus died. This prayer pilgrimage is a powerful way to grow closer to Jesus at any time of the year, though it is most popular during the Lenten season.
Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m.
Starting on March 19, 2024, Geisel will host a weekly Reading Party each on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. for the remainder of the semester. The last party will be on April 30, 2024.
How it Works
Bring something to read (fiction, non-fiction, textbook, magazine, whatever), or pick something from Geisel's collections. We'll read for a hour or so, silently, as a group in the Reading Room. After one hour you will be invited to share what you've read with the person/s sitting next to you.
Take advantage of this time to read, learn from others, and find out about other great books to read.
Coffee, tea, and cocoa will be provided.
No RSVP required. Attend when you can.
All are welcome!
