On Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 9:30 a.m., we will be meeting via Zoom to discuss "The Fraud" by Zadie Smith.
Zadie Smith makes 1860s London feel alive, and recognizable. Her new novel, “The Fraud,” is based on a celebrated 19th-century criminal trial, but it keeps one eye focused clearly on today’s political populism" (New York Times, 2023).

This multi-day in person conference is designed for nurses and other health professionals who are working in school settings across the developmental span, from pre-school to college campuses.

By the end of the multi-day school nurse conference "Connecting and Collaborating," participants will be able to describe enhanced interdisciplinary skills and discuss strategies for addressing diverse student health needs and fostering inclusive and supportive school environments.
The Transitions Program is designed to assist new incoming students who come from historically underrepresented backgrounds (such as minoritized racial/ethnic backgrounds, first-generation, income-eligible, and commuter ) with their transition to Saint Anselm College. The program is meant to strengthen the academic, social, and cultural experiences of students to increase their success at the Hilltop. Transitions includes a 4-day experience before orientation, an assigned peer mentor, workshops and social events throughout the first year, and individualized support from professional staff to guide students throughout their college journey. Through participation in the program, students will gain a deeper connection with campus resources, faculty, staff, and peers to ease their transition to college life. The Transitions Program is a collaboration between the
Fr. Jonathan, O.S.B. Center for Intercultural Learning and Inclusion and the federally grant funded, TRIO Scholars Program.
This comprehensive 2-day workshop has been developed to empower nurses transitioning or aspiring to transition into clinical nursing faculty roles within academic and healthcare settings. The workshop aims to equip participants with essential skills, strategies, and best practices necessary for effective clinical teaching, including methods for fostering clinical judgment, the art of debriefing, using constructive feedback approaches, and accessing resources for continued development such as toolkits, templates, and mentor relationships. The program will include simulation exercises, opportunities for cognitive rehearsal as well as group discussion to address individual questions and increase learner confidence.
Learning Outcome:
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to articulate the core responsibilities and expectations of clinical nursing faculty in academia, describe strategies to foster clinical judgment and critical thinking skills in nursing students, apply effective debriefing techniques to facilitate reflective learning, compare constructive and ineffective feedback approaches, and access resources for continued development such as toolkits, templates, and mentor relationships.
