The Anselmian Abbey Players bring the midwest to New Hampshire with their performance of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic, "Oklahoma!" at the Dana Center on March 23, 24, 30, 31 at 7:30 p.m.
"Oklahoma!" tells the story of life on the Oklahoma plains in the 20th century with all the romance and comedy of the long-running Broadway show. It features the love triangle of young cowboy, Curly McLain, his sweetheart, Laurey Williams, and farmhand, Judd Fry.
Will Parker and his flirtatious fiancée, Ado Annie, provide comic relief. The show features Broadway standards such as "Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin'," "I Cain't Say No," and the title song, "Oklahoma!"
Manchester resident Craig McKerley is standing in as Curly. He was most recently in "Next to Normal" presented by The Acting Loft. Milford resident, Ashley Therrien '12 plays Laurey, and Ethan Lawrence '13 is Judd.
The musical is directed by Carey Cahoon '98 with musical direction by Blake Leister, and choreography by Jen Coburn '99. Tickets are $14 for adults, $12 for seniors, and $12 for children. For additional information see the Dana center website.
During the four shows there will be a silent auction with items from various community organizations. The winners will be announced on the closing night, March 31. This is the Abbey Player's 63rd season.
