Graduating seniors will meet and mingle with a large group of the college's successful young graduates at an evening event April 10. The networking event takes place at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics from 6-8 p.m.
The Saint Anselm Young Alumni/Senior Class Networking Night is like a professional "business after hours" event, according to Sam Allen, director of the Office of Career Services in the Center for Experiential Learning. The event is co-sponsored by the career services office, the Alumni Association, and the Class of 2014.
A first-of-its kind offering for the college, it provides seniors with a chance to talk with alumni about their careers and make connections that can bear fruit during the search for employment, in a "business casual" social setting.
"Seniors will meet graduates who may soon become their colleagues or employers," Allen says. "They will be able to ask alumni about their early job experiences and explore how their majors and experiential learning at Saint Anselm can be applied on the path to a satisfying career. They'll be able to ask their advice, talk about their goals, and generally make an impression."
Alumni in attendance are mostly graduates fewer than 10 years out of college, and several graduated last spring. They include professionals in the fields of finance, nursing, advertising, criminal justice, communications, community health, and politics.
