On Friday, February 28, as the college prepares for spring vacation, members of the Saint Anselm College Choir will be boarding a flight for Budapest as they begin a tour of central Europe. The 2014 Eurochoir group will be performing in basilicas, cathedrals and churches throughout their trip while also touring the Benedictine Abbey of Pannonhalma Archabbey in Hungary and other historic sites.
This is the fifth time that the Saint Anselm College choir has traveled to Europe to perform. This year's group consists of 29 students, three staff members, and ten friends of the college and will be traveling to Budapest, Hungary; Bratislava, Slovakia; Prague, Czech Republic; and Berlin, Germany.
"The overarching purpose for the trip is to give students the opportunity to explore historic places in Europe and sing in front of European audiences," says Choir Director Fr. Bede Camera, O.S.B. "It is an enriching experience for all of us, each taking something personal and meaningful in his or her own way."
