Robert Perreault, a member of the Class of 1972 and a longtime teacher of conversational French at Saint Anselm College, was selected as the Franco-American of the Year by the Franco-American Centre in Manchester, N.H.
Perreault is well-known as an expert on Manchester history and New England Franco-American culture. He is a writer, public speaker, and historical tour guide, and has published several books, more than 150 articles, essays and short stories, as well as a novel, "L'Heritage"and two books.
Perreault is the former librarian and archivist of the mostly French-language collection that was transferred from the Association Canado-Americaine in Manchester to the lower level of Geisel Library in 2009, and he selected the current collection of 3,000 volumes that serves as a resource to researchers on both sides of the border.
