Quicksilver choreography steeped in an atmosphere of romance!St. Louis Dispatch

Since 1976, Ensemble Español has been electrifying audiences worldwide under the leadership of founder, Dame Libby Komaiko. Colorful and fiery, sensuous and soulful, bursting with life, this extraordinary company of dancers, singers, and musicians represents a mosaic of cultures from around the world, with deep roots in Iberian tradition. Transplanted from its Spanish home to its current base in Chicago, the company celebrates the rich texture and vibrant sound of Hispanic culture as it is expressed in the U.S. and South America, with an enormous range of work encompassing classical, folkloric, and Flamenco traditions that is used as a living source of cultural pride and education. Come revel in a passionate dance & music celebration of Spanish literature, culture, spirituality, and experience – from its origins in the Old World, to its effects on the New. It's an evening sure to enlighten, inspire, and enthrall! In addition to a full-scale performance in the evening, Ensemble Español will offer two educational opportunities for students and lovers of dance and music - a tailored for students matinee performance at 9:30 a.m., and a discussion and demonstration at 3:00 p.m. Please reserve early for these very special events – space is limited.
