Silent Movie Night Mirthquake!

The Dana Center jumped at the chance to co-host a double feature film fest celebrating the Silent Movie Era with an added feature of its starring Saint Anselm College alumnus Raymond Griffith. Known as the "Silk Hat" comedian, his stardom rivaled that of peers Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton and Lillian Gish. The evening features two of his best surviving works; Paths to Paradise (1925) starring Griffith as a polished and resourceful con man in a jewel heist, and Hands Up (1926) playing the role of a calamitous Confederate spy during the Civil War. Silence is golden but you'll laugh out loud all night long. The Dana Center is pleased to collaborate with HippoPress, the Manchester Express and Looser Than Loose Vintage Entertainment on this evening of fun with live music performed by local composer and silent film specialist Jeff Rapsis.
