Hello again,Here is a brief review of what went on at our meeting last night:
1.) Auction - We disuccsed this fundraising idea again and decided to give it a try. There's no way we can lose money in this, and it may turn out to be a good way to raise some money and have fun. Basically we're going to put up wish lists for students (hopefully campus-wide with the help of CAB) where they can write things they want (i.e. a guitar lesson, a plane ride, etc.). There will also be e-mails going around asking if anyone has anything to provide that they would be willing to donate. More information will be coming on this event once we hear more from CAB. But for now you can think of things you either want or have to give.
2.) T-Shirts - There is a seperate e-mail for this topic which explains all the details.
3.) Retreat - The retreat at Hundred Acres is going to be held Saturday, February 9th to Sunday, February 10th. We'll be leaving at about 5:30 on Saturday evening and returning at about 5:00 on Saturday evening. There will be three short lectures (20 minutes) followed by small group discussions. There will also be time for movies and other bonding activities. Food has already been arranged, but the cost is yet to be determined. The most this event would cost is $5 per person to offset the cost of the food. Individual students have been assigned to personally invite the professors and certain students. Chris is making invitations that will be put in the mailboxes of these students today (Wednesday) to give to the professors. Sign-up sheets will be going up for all other interested students by Friday of this week. Any questions should be e-mailed to Melissa.
4.) MFAT review sessions: Dates and times for these are to be announced. Individual students were assigned to talk to professors in order to find out what time they would like to give their lecture. More information will be coming when available.
For those of you who couldn't make it because of a Tuesday night class, I wanted to let you know that all
future meetings will not be on Tuesdays. Also, I hope everyone will get started on these fundraising ideas
soon because we definitely need the help! And thank you to all those who came to the meeting and to those who offered their help. As always, any questions can be sent to me or any of the other officers.Thanks!
