The library maintains subscriptions to several daily and weekly newspapers. The most recent issue of each is available in the Periodicals Reading Room. Popular papers such as the Boston Globe and Wall Street Journal are on newspaper rods, and the rest are shelved in alphabetical order along with the magazines on the wall racks. Older issues are stored on the Lower Level in the Newspaper Area, around the corner from the photocopiers. Search for the newspaper's title in the library catalog to see how far back the library's holdings go. Typically, the library keeps the last two months of daily newspapers and the last two years of weekly newspapers.

As with journal databases, newspaper databases can be searched using keywords that represent the research topic of interest. There are often limiters available for restricting the search to particular sections of the newspaper or date ranges. In general, these databases provide the full text of every article during the date ranges indicated below. Some also allow for searching of other parts of the newspaper, such as advertisements and editorial cartoons.
