Adapted from a story by Agatha Christie
This classic whodunit opens with an announcement in the local paper which reads: “A murder is announced and will take place on Friday, October 13th, at Little Paddocks at 6:30 p.m.” Unable to resist the mysterious invitation, a crowd begins to gather at Little Paddocks at the appointed time when, without warning, the lights go out. What follows is a vintage Agatha Christie puzzle of twists and turns, concealed identities, and a professional game of cat-and-mouse between the determined Inspector Craddock and the delightfully droll Miss Jane Marple. But, as can be expected, Miss Marple provides the final solution in a dramatic confrontation just before the closing curtain.
