8:30 am EDT - 2:30 pm EDT

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to describe skin lesions using standard dermatologic terminology, differentiate between benign and malignant conditions, and identify when referral to a dermatology specialist is indicated.

Description: Skin assessment is a vital part of nursing practice, yet dermatologic terminology and diagnosis can often feel complex or unfamiliar. This full-day program provides nurses with a practical foundation in dermatology—covering the language of lesion description, recognition of common rashes and neoplasms, and evidence-based management strategies. Through case examples and clinical discussion, participants will gain the confidence to describe findings precisely, recognize concerning changes, and know when referral to a dermatology specialist is warranted.

Target Audience: This program is designed for registered nurses, nurse practitioners, and other health professionals seeking to strengthen their foundational knowledge of dermatologic assessment and management. It is particularly relevant for those working in primary care, urgent care, pediatrics, school health, and other settings where skin conditions are commonly encountered.
