An appreciation of artistic expression is fundamental to a liberal arts education. Central to life at Saint Anselm are the Alva de Mars Megan Chapel Art Center and the Dana Center for the Humanities, which complement classes in humanities, music, drama, and the visual arts.
Formerly a chapel, the gallery houses the College’s permanent collection, offering a series of exhibits and cultural events throughout the academic year. The Fine Arts Series, presented in collaboration with the Fine Arts Department, offers programming throughout the semester.
Dozens of performances are presented annually, ranging from classical drama to hip-hop. The Dana Center is also home to the Anselmian Abbey Players, who offer plays and musicals throughout the year and provide students with the opportunity to learn all phases of theatre production.
The Aaron Tolson Institute of Dance at Saint Anselm College blends the foundational aspect of the liberal arts with the passion of dance to provide young dancers with the avenue to nurture their skillset alongside talented peers and renowned dance instructors.
At Saint Anselm you'll find opportunities in and out of the classroom to enhance your college experience. Whether it's joining the choir, viewing some of the art installations on campus, attending an artist or author speaking event on campus, or participating in a residential learning community devoted to the arts, opportunities abound.
