Evaluating Your Executive Director: An Opportunity for Expanded Partnership
Remote
The most significant investment a nonprofit makes is in its Executive Director. A thoughtful, well-planned, and transparent performance review of the organization's leader not only protects that investment, but strengthens the partnership between the board and the Executive Director. Annual evaluation of the Executive Director is one of the board’s most important responsibilities and a critical strategy for retaining talented leaders.
When done well, the evaluation process builds trust, clarifies expectations, aligns goals, and supports the leader’s growth and capacity. This interactive webinar demystifies the executive performance evaluation process through discussion of the evaluation cycle and components, data collection methods, board roles, and frameworks for assessing and communicating results. Participants will leave with tools and insights to conduct evaluations that are constructive, collaborative, and mission-focused.
