Substance use disorders among healthcare workers, including nurses, are a complex issue with profound implications for patient safety and professional practice. This full-day continuing education program, explores the multifaceted challenges of diversion, from identifying risk factors to fostering recovery. Participants will gain insights into the methods of diversion, common substances of abuse, and the personal and professional impacts of substance use disorders. Through real-life stories, expert discussions, and evidence-based strategies, attendees will learn how to support affected colleagues, advocate for systemic solutions, and promote a culture of accountability and compassion within their organizations.
