The restoration of the Gregory J. Grappone Humanities Institute has won a New Hampshire Architects Institute Association 2025 Design Award. The award is presented each year to further recognition of New Hampshire’s architectural accomplishments.

“These awards really affirm the fantastic work they did as well as the vision we shared with them since 2019 of transforming the old Boiler House into a home for the Humanities,” said Gary Bouchard, executive director of the Humanities Institute.
This award reinforces the Humanities Institute’s status as an ever-growing campus and community staple. The restoration of the building also won an award from the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance award in 2024.
President of Saint Anselm College Joseph A. Favazza, Ph.D., emphasized Grappone’s significance for not only the college, but for the local community itself. Favazza stated “The Grappone Humanities Institute is not only a hub for the humanities in New Hampshire, but also serves as a testament to thoughtfully repurposing a building in an innovative way. It is a space where we welcome the ideas and energy of active learners of all backgrounds as we fashion opportunities that help us all better understand and appreciate our shared humanity.”
