Theology
Offered as a major (B.A.) and a minor
Generally speaking, theological inquiry seeks an understanding of the mystery of God and of the human condition. Specifically, the task of Christian theology is to express meaningfully the revelation of Jesus, and to examine and explain the faith of the Christian community in its historical and contemporary context. Theology is equally concerned with the practical implications of living a life of faith, particularly in its moral, spiritual, and liturgical dimensions.
Through foundational knowledge, community engagement, faith, reason, ethical and critical thinking skills, you will be prepared to engage in today's world challenges and graduate qualified for a successful career in a variety of fields.
One of the reasons I teach here is that Saint Anselm is unabashedly a liberal arts college—it says we are equipping you, preparing your mind for a lifetime of opportunities and joys and challenges; and that’s going to require your mind to be stretched in a variety of ways.

Join the Conversation
The Center for the Study of Religion and Public Life seeks to engage students, faculty, staff, and the community by examining how religion influences and is influenced by our shared common life. At the Center, students can come on their journeys and encourage others to think about how religion frames the ways that we look at reality.
