A storied tradition at Saint Anselm College, the community gathered to celebrate the 32nd annual Paul S. Coleman Volunteer Service and Leadership Awards on April 23, 2025. A wide array of students was recognized for their selfless dedication to the Saint Anselm and greater New Hampshire communities over the course of their college careers.
Every year, two major awards are presented in memory of Paul S. Coleman, a sociology professor who made his impact on the Hilltop by leading with intention: the Paul S. Coleman Senior Service Award for Outstanding Service Leadership and the Paul S. Coleman Senior Service Award for Outstanding Community Service. Today, these awards are given to students who emulate Coleman’s legacy and receive the award on behalf of the entire senior class.
At this year’s ceremony, the main accolades were awarded to three students instead of two, with two students being selected as recipients of the award for Outstanding Service Leadership. Josephine Rizzo ’25, a politics major, and Megan Wozniak ’25, a biochemistry and molecular biology major, were both presented with the Outstanding Service Leadership distinction. The recipient of the Outstanding Community Service award was communication major Fiona Hutchison ’25.
Paul S. Coleman Senior Service Award for Outstanding Service Leadership: Josephine Rizzo ’25

A passionate student advocate, politics major Josephine Rizzo has used her time at Saint Anselm to reach beyond the Hilltop, sharing her love for learning with the broader community.
Her focus was on Access Academy, the Meelia Center’s after-school program for high school students who typically face barriers to higher education. She taught classes on civic engagement, politics, and leadership, inspiring young people to recognize the power of their own voices.
Beyond the classroom, she worked behind-the-scenes planning, coordinating, and strategizing to ensure that the program was working for all students.

Biochemistry and molecular biology major Megan Wozniak ’25 has humbly dedicated her time and heart to the campus, using her medical skills as an EMT to provide free blood pressure checks at Family Weekend and bringing her bright spirit to guests with cognitive disabilities at the Meelia Center’s Valentine’s Day dances, a longtime collaboration with The Moore Center.
Megan has served as a member of the Saint Anselm College Emergency Medical Services team (SACEMS), putting her skills to use by helping fellow students in need. As part of SACEMS, she has led the team in further service activities such as setting up craft tables for local kids at the Meelia Center’s annual holiday fair.
