New Hampshire governor Chris Sununu extensively cited and quoted from work by Center for Ethics Director Jason Sorens in a legislative letter recently. The letter, which advocated passage of SB 400 to provide incentives and requirements for increasing housing supply at the local level, referred to the study entitled, Residential Land-Use Regulations in New Hampshire: Causes and Consequences, which was launched at a joint Center for Ethics-Bartlett Center event in October 2021. The letter notes,

According to the report, "Widely available measures show that New Hampshire is one of the most restrictive states in the country for residential development."

The Center will continue to provide policy-relevant research on important ethical issues, such as New Hampshire's housing shortage and how to solve it, to key decision-makers in the state.
