On Thurs., Oct. 14, 2021, members of Saint Anselm College’s President’s Society gathered to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the New Hampshire Institute of Politics (NHIOP). Attendees, many of whom also attended the launch of the campaign to build a new home for the Humanities earlier in the day, walked through displays of notable candidate visits. Neil Levesque, executive director of the NHIOP, spoke about NHIOP’s impact over the years.
“When I think about democracy, it’s hard not to think about the great dichotomy that happened here on this campus 20 years ago,” said Levesque. “We had a group of people… who said this will be a place where we can have civil discourse where we can showcase democracy, and I think they’ve accomplished their goal.”
