Authors Dr. Robert D. Putnam and Shaylyn Romeny Garrett visit the New Hampshire Institute of Politics to discuss their book “The Upswing: How America Came Together a Century Ago and How We Can Do It Again.” 

On Monday, April 25, the New Hampshire Institute of Politics (NHIOP) at Saint Anselm College welcomed the current Governor of Arkansas, Asa Hutchinson for the Institute’s famous Politics and Eggs series.

On Monday, March 21, the New Hampshire Institute of Politics (NHIOP) at Saint Anselm College welcomed former New Jersey governor Chris Christie for their first in-person Politics and Eggs event since 2020. 

The actions that a president takes during their first 100 days in office are vital in determining the early success of a president’s time in office, but this margin was not always as symbolic as it is today.

Due to the implementation of new health and safety regulations presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, the New Hampshire Institute of Politics’ (NHIOP) Kevin B. Harrington student ambassadors have had a particularly challenging responsibility for maintaining engagement. 

New Hampshire Institute of Politics hosted a panel discussion on February 22, 2023, with constitutional scholars to discuss the evolution of the Supreme Court in the modern world. The panel had a range of expertise, including former New Hampshire State Supreme Court Chief Justice John T. Broderick, Villanova Law Professor Michael Moreland, and Saint Anselm Professor Christopher Galdieri. The event was moderated by University of New Hampshire Law Professor John Greabe.

The New Hampshire Institute of Politics welcomed back former head of U.S. central command and CIA director General David H. Petraeus in a virtual zoom event on Feb. 3, 2022 as part of the Institute’s Speaker Series.

No two inaugurations are alike, there have even been differences in the presidential oath. In accordance with Article II, Section I of the U.S. Constitution, the oath reads: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

The New Hampshire Institute of Politics is proud to welcome 25 new ambassadors to the program.
