In a strategic collaboration to grow opportunities for students, Saint Anselm College is proud to announce a new partnership with Tufts University School of Medicine for those interested in continuing their graduate education in physical therapy. Saint Anselm’s Jean School of Nursing and Health Sciences teamed with Tufts University School of Medicine to offer Saint Anselm students a doctorate in physical therapy (DPT). Through the Tufts – Saint Anselm College Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Partnership Program, in just seven semesters, eligible students can take valuable steps towards a professional career in physical therapy. The program features a hybrid curriculum, combining online coursework, in-person clinical skills labs, and hands-on clinical education to provide added flexibility and an immersive learning experience. This partnership deepens Saint Anselm’s existing relationship with Tufts University School of Medicine as the DPT partnership is now the second program the institutions have crafted together.

“We are thrilled that our partnership with Tufts University School of Medicine now extends to two programs: the Master in Public Health and the Doctor of Physical Therapy, offering a pathway to graduate studies for nursing, community and public health and health sciences undergraduates at the Jean School,” says Founding Dean and Professor of Practice at the Jean School of Nursing and Health Sciences Diane Uzarski, DNP.
Beginning this fall, eligible Saint Anselm students and alumni may apply. The Tufts - Saint Anselm College collaboration offers a streamlined application process to prospective students.
Applicants accepted into the DPT Partnership Program can study at one of Tufts’ three campus locations in Boston, Phoenix, or Seattle. Each location has 10 available spots reserved for Saint Anselm students and alumni. Throughout the program, DPT students will study with engaged faculty in an enriching environment in a variety of learning formats, from hybrid classroom learning to eight in-person clinical placements.
“This new partnership with Tufts University School of Medicine reflects our deep commitment to expanding educational opportunities for undergraduate students that prepare them to meet the evolving needs of healthcare,” Uzarski shares.
The hands-on, advanced curriculum is rooted in evidence-based practices. In addition to expanded knowledge, the program supplements diverse networking opportunities, leadership preparation, and expert faculty guidance. The lasting academic and professional impact of the DPT Partnership Program will set students up for success in their post-collegiate careers.
The DPT Partnership Program supports students who aspire to be on the front lines of improving lives by providing care and restoring movement for healthier communities. Majors that might be interested in a DPT are but not limited to:
Students across all areas of study are welcome to apply, if they have completed all prerequisite courses. The Tufts – Saint Anselm DPT Partnership Program is designed to support students and ensure a smooth transition from undergraduate to graduate study.
“The DPT Partnership Program is exciting for Saint Anselm, as it recognizes the strength of our academic programs and the preparation of our students to pursue graduate studies,” comments Health Sciences Faculty Leader and Professor Carolyn Weinreb, Ph.D. “This is a fantastic option for our students that provides both a direct path to the Tufts program, but also the resources of the admissions team at Tufts.” Professor Weinreb will serve as faculty advisor for the program.
To be eligible for the DPT Partnership Program, students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and have completed all prerequisite courses and requirements. There is no application fee or GRE requirement for qualified applicants. For more information, all eligibility requirements, or how to apply, students are encouraged to contact Professor Weinreb.
