Educational focus areas include graduate nursing leadership, strategic planning and public health. Scholarship areas focus on the biorepository business plan development and sustainability for biomarker research, and strategic plan implementation in academic settings.
Dean Uzarski’s healthcare career in a variety of private, public and academic settings spans more than 35 years. A highly regarded healthcare leader formerly at Duke University, Dr. Uzarski has brought her diverse nursing career and experiences in translational research administration and academic healthcare leadership to her role as dean. During her tenure in nursing academic leadership at Duke University School of Nursing, she lead the implementation of the school’s five-year strategic plan and the leadership of multiple mission-driven strategic initiatives. Her teaching experience focuses on nursing leadership on the masters and doctoral levels. She currently serves as a Board of Trustees member for Catholic Medical Center - HCA Healthcare, and on the Healthcare Committee for Catholic Charities, Manchester.
