Join Dr. Christopher Tollefsen, Professor of Philosophy at the University of South Carolina, as he discusses the topic "How to Suffer" at the 2023 Fides et Ratio lecture. All are invited.

Dr. Tollefsen is the author of Lying and Christian Ethics and co-author of The Way of Medicine: Ethics and the Healing Profession (with Dr. Farr Curlin) and Embryo: A Defense of Human Life (with Robert P. George). From 2019-2020, Dr. Tollefsen served as a Commissioner on the State Department’s Commission on Unalienable Rights.

2024 Fides et Ratio Lecture

The 2024 Fides et Ratio Lecture will be held on Wednesday, November 6. Prof. Joshua Hochschild, from Mount St. Mary’s University, Emmitsburg, Maryland, will be the lecturer. 

The topic of his presentation will be “Learning How to Think About God: Divine Simplicity and the Acquisition of Theological Concepts.” 

The talk will be in Dana 1D at 7:30 p.m. All are invited.

The Eighth Saint Anselm Conference

The Eighth Saint Anselm Conference will be held April 3-5, 2025 on the campus of Saint Anselm College, Manchester, New Hampshire. The Conference is dedicated to the foundational teaching of Nicaea, the first of the great ecumenical councils, in anticipation of its 1700th anniversary in June, 2025.

“Anselm on the Beauty of the Spirit”

Conference registration and all of the paper presentations will take place in the Geisel Library. The session papers will be delivered between 9:00AM on Friday, April 4, and noon on Saturday, April 5. The plenary address will be given on Friday evening in the McCready Event Space in the Roger and Francine Jean Student Center. The Conference will open with a reception in the library at 6:00PM on Thursday, April, 3, and conclude at 1:00PM with lunch on Saturday, April 5.

Saint Anselm College is located just outside the city of Manchester, New Hampshire, approximately fifty miles north of Boston. The Manchester Boston Regional Airport is approximately eight miles from campus.
