September 19, 2024
6:00 pm EDT - 8:00 pm EDT

Join us for an insightful evening as Nathaniel Rakich, Ariel Edwards-Levy, and Simone Pathe dive into the 2024 election landscape. They'll discuss the art of interpreting polls with a healthy dose of skepticism and what it means for the upcoming election. Moderated by the Institute’s executive director, Neil Levesque, this is a conversation you won't want to miss!

About the panelists:

Ariel Edwards-Levy is the polling and analytics editor at CNN, covering the intersection of politics and public opinion.  Before joining CNN, Ariel was a senior reporter and polling editor at HuffPost. She is a member of the American Association for Public Opinion Research and the winner of the 2019 APSA Carey McWilliams Award for major journalistic contributions to the understanding of politics. Edwards-Levy is a Los Angeles native and a graduate of the University of Southern California.

Nathaniel Rakich is a senior editor and senior elections analyst at 538. Before joining 538 in 2018, he wrote about politics for Inside Elections, The New Yorker, POLITICO, Roll Call, The Atlantic, The New Republic, and the Boston Globe. In a previous life, he also blogged about baseball and worked as an editor for Let's Go Travel Guides. He graduated from Harvard University in 2010.

Simone Pathe is the senior Washington editor for CNN Politics, which she joined in early 2020. She writes CNN’s regular rankings of the 10 Senate seats most likely to flip and contributes other campaign stories. Prior to joining CNN, Pathe was a senior political reporter at Roll Call, where she covered US Senate and House races around the country. Before that, she was a reporter/producer for the PBS NewsHour, where she edited the economics blog. She got her first taste of covering campaigns at The Hotline during the 2012 election. Pathe graduated from Bates College with degrees in politics and French. Originally from New Jersey, Pathe lives and works in Washington, DC.
