Summer Reading Challenge

2025 is the Summer of Reading!

This summer, Geisel Librarians encourage you to enjoy the many benefits of reading:

  • improved vocabulary, writing, and communication skills
  • increased empathy, compassion, and understanding for others
  • better sleep, memory, cognition, and overall mental health, etc.

To support this activity we've prepared a "Summer Read" guide with lists of titles recently added to our collection. We also invite you to participate in our Summer Reading Challenge.

All SAC faculty, staff, students, and members of the monastic community are invited to participate. To play the game, print off the Summer Reading Challenge card. The challenge is played similar to Bingo whereby you "mark" a box for each challenge you complete as identified on the card.

Be sure to follow the instructions on the sheet and drop off your completed Summer Reading Challenge at the Geisel Circulation Desk by Noon on Friday, August 29, 2025 to be entered into a raffle for a $100 Barnes & Noble gift card. The winner will be announced by the end of the day.

Good luck with the challenge and happy reading!

Native Speaker Program

The Native Speaker Program complements classroom study of a foreign language by giving students the opportunity to use the target language in a setting that models real-life situations. In small groups that are relaxed and conducive to interaction, students develop their speaking and listening skills. As they converse with one another and with a native speaker, students are provided a mini-immersion experience that can foster fluency and confidence in speaking the target language.
