We are pleased to offer several opportunities for students to be engaged in their residence halls and neighborhoods. Explore the accordions below or contact the Office of Residential Life and Education at (603) 222-4006 for more information!
Resident Assistants (RAs) are paraprofessional staff in the Office of Residential Life and Education and key leaders on campus. Assigned to floors or areas of 40-60 students, they foster community and support residents' personal, social, academic, and spiritual development. RAs also promote the College’s mission, policies, and values, serving as role models and liaisons between students and the institution.
All Full-time students who have a semester GPA of 2.3 or higher and are good judicial standing with the college are eligible to apply!
We are passionate about our staff and deeply appreciate the work they do every day! The compensation for the RA role includes:
- Room Cost - in the area an RA is placed
- Board Plan Cost - the Standard Traditional Hall Meal Plan
- Opportunities for advanced professional development and conference attendance.
We encourage all applicants to speak with the Financial Aid Office to discuss any potential changes in aid that the RA position may cause.
The First Flight Anselmian Leadership Program is a leadership development opportunity designed to help students build the skills and confidence needed to pursue campus leadership roles. Through workshops, activities, and mentorship, participants gain valuable experience that prepares them for positions such as Resident Assistant (RA), Orientation Leader, NHIOP Ambassador, Tour Guide, and more.
One specialized track within the program is RA2B, a selective option for students who are already interested in applying for the RA role in the future. RA2B offers participants a closer look at the responsibilities of the RA position and helps them strengthen the skills that align with the role.
Please note: participation in the First Flight program—or the RA2B track—does not guarantee a future RA position. Instead, the program equips you with tools and experiences that will support your growth as a leader, no matter which opportunities you choose to pursue on campus.
Residence Hall Councils (RHCs) are composed of residential students in their building or area. These councils meet regularly to explore how students can positively impact their residence hall communities, while also creating opportunities to engage with the broader Saint Anselm College campus and the greater Manchester community.
Reach out to your Area Coordinator or Resident Director for more information.
Incoming first-year students who have been accepted into the Honors Program have the opportunity to opt into Honors Housing. This community is designed to connect Honors students in a supportive living-learning environment that enhances both academic and social experiences. First-year male Honors students will be housed in a dedicated wing of Dominic Hall, while first-year female Honors students will live in a dedicated wing of Joan of Arc Hall.
Rising Sophomores Honors students can apply to live within Sophomores Honors Housing located in the Living Learning Commons. Students within this housing cohort will be able to live with other honors students, attend class within their residence hall, and capitalize on the academic opportunities featured within the Living Learning Commons. Only students within the Sophomore Honors Program are eligible for this pre-selection process.
Please note: if you are applying for Honors Housing, all roommates must be members of the Honors Program in order to live in this community.
Residency Classes offer students the unique opportunity to live and learn in the Living Learning Commons. These specialized communities blend academics and residential life, encouraging personal growth, close interaction with faculty, and full use of the Commons’ academic resources. To participate, students must be enrolled in a Residency Classes and apply for the housing component by the alternate housing process deadline. The list of available Residency Classes will be released in January.
Residential Learning Communities (RLCs) are an educational initiative sponsored by the Office of Residential Life and Education (RLE) to foster student engagement and connection on campus through student-driven programming. RLCs are themed communities that create specialized living environments where students can pursue shared interests, collaborate on goals, and support one another’s personal growth. This pre-selection housing option is open to all upperclassmen, with locations determined by the specific needs of each RLC. To be considered, students must attend an RLC information session or meet with the RLC Coordinator before submitting their application.
The vision for Substance-Free Living is to create a supportive environment where students who value a substance-free lifestyle can thrive academically, socially, and personally. Residents in this community agree to refrain from all tobacco, alcohol, and drug use at all times.
For first-year students, substance-free housing is available through an opt-in process: female students will live in a dedicated wing of Joan of Arc Hall, while male students will live in a wing of Dominic Hall. While all first-year residence halls are considered "dry buildings," choosing substance-free housing offers additional benefits, including a focused living environment, peer support, and themed programming designed to encourage healthy and positive lifestyle choices.
For upperclassmen, the pre-selection substance-free community is located in Holy Cross Hall. Residents in all substance-free communities can expect the full support of the Residential Life staff, including enforcement of housing agreements, promotion of positive community attitudes, and engaging programming tailored to this lifestyle choice.
