Vendor Information
To provide residential students with additional service and support, we have partnered with New England Student Services to complement their community experience. All vendors have been vetted by the college and are in official partnership with Saint Anselm College.
Interested in having a refrigerator or microwave for next year? Consider renting a Combination Microwave Unit/Refrigerator from New England Student Services. Start the process at this link and choose Saint Anselm College on their website. Order by July 31st for the unit to be in your room prior to your fall arrival.
Orders submitted after July 31st will still be delivered to campus but may not be in room prior to your arrival. We ask that if you or a family member is ordering on your behalf, please make sure the order is in your (the student’s) full name so we can best work with the company to get it to your space. Renting from New England Student Services will be the only way to have a MicroFridge within your space, make sure you select the Rent option!
Per college policy, standalone microwaves are not allowed. If you would like to have a microwave to share with your roommate(s), renting a MicroFridge is the only way to do so. All college policies related to mini fridges in residence halls still apply when renting a MicroFridge. i.e. one per every double and no minifridges allowed in apartments.
Stressed about how you are going to make it all fit in the car? No need! Visit this link to learn about different storage options.
You will be able to leave the storage items in your space for New England Student Services to pick up. They will store it for you over the summer and then drop it off to your Fall Housing assignment. All orders must be submitted by May 10th to be picked up at closing.
General FAQs
All residence hall beds have twin XL mattresses (36” x 80”). Students should bring twin XL sheets to ensure a proper fit.
No, laundry services are available for no cost on campus. Students can utilize the Laundry Connect website to see the status of each washer and dryer in their building.
Saint Anselm College’s residence halls are primarily single-gender but allow intervisitation during designated hours. The college maintains intervisitation policies to balance community connection with personal comfort and respect for shared living spaces. Recognizing that not all residents feel comfortable with visitors of the opposite gender in their residence hall rooms, intervisitation provides a structured framework that allows students to visit friends while clearly defining appropriate times and locations for those visits. These boundaries help create a residential environment that supports safety, privacy, and mutual respect for all members of the community. Each hall has a common lounge where guests may be received outside of intervisitation times. Guests of the opposite gender may visit starting at 5 p.m. and must leave by 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and by 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. There are two co-ed residence halls on campus—Baroody Hall and the Living Learning Commons. In these buildings, wings are separated by gender, and card access is restricted so that only residents of a wing may enter their assigned area.
Pets, including fish, are not permitted in the residence halls at any time. Students seeking an accommodation for an emotional support animal or service animal must go through the Office of Disability Services for approval.
In traditional residence hall rooms, one mini fridge is permitted for every two students. This means that triple rooms may have only one mini fridge, while quad rooms may have up to two. All mini fridges must be less than 40 inches in height. Students living in apartment-style housing are not permitted to bring mini fridges, as a full-sized refrigerator is already provided in the kitchen.
If you lose your ID, please access your account to report your card as Lost. You may also call the Davison Hall front office at x7750 or email diningservices@anslem.edu to report it as missing. If you find your card, you can reactivate it *(This only applies to the most recent Lost card. Older Lost cards need to be reactivated in the Davison Hall front office in person during business hours). If your ID card is not found, you will need to pay a small placement fee for a new card.
First-year students may have vehicles on campus, provided they purchase a permit. Any specific questions regarding purchasing a parking permit, and where students are permitted to park should be directed to the Office of Campus Safety and Security.
Students living in traditional residence halls are not permitted to have personal microwaves in their rooms unless they have an approved accommodation through the Office of Disability Services. To ensure all students have access, the Office of Residential Life and Education provides multiple communal microwaves in each building. These are available for student use at any time.
If you notice a maintenance issue in your room or apartment (such as a broken light, leaky faucet, or heating concern), please report it to your Resident Assistant (RA) or the professional staff member who oversees your residence hall. They will place a work order on your behalf and help track the request to ensure it is resolved.
For emergency maintenance needs—such as flooding, loss of heat, broken locks, or any situation that poses a safety concern—notify your RA or professional staff member immediately. If the issue occurs outside of business hours, contact Campus Safety so they can alert the on-call staff member.
Please note: residents may incur charges for any intentional or accidental damage to their room, apartment, or furnishings.
Housing Selection FAQs
Students often have questions about the lottery process. Below are the most common questions students have and the corresponding answers.
Incoming first-year students do not participate in the Housing Lottery; they are housed over the summer in the first year areas. The students who participate in Lottery are current residents who have submitted their deposit on time.
Your group or roommate(s) will be able to choose from all available spaces at the time your room selection timeslot is activated in the StarRez Housing Portal. There will be buildings and spaces that you will not be allowed to select. Some spaces will be marked for first year students, others specifically marked for males or females. Joan of Arc Hall, Alumni Streets, and Dominic Hall will be exclusively for first year residents.
All students planning to live on campus are required to pay a non-refundable $300 room reservation deposit for the next academic year by the deposit date deadline advertised. This deposit functions as a RESERVATION for a room on campus. It does not guarantee a specific location but that you have reserved on-campus housing. After you pay your housing deposit you will sign your housing contract and apply for the particular style of housing you would like to obtain.
Each student that has paid their $300 housing deposit will receive their own lottery number. All lottery numbers will be randomly assigned within each class and generated by the Office of Residential Life and Education. Your year of graduation determines your Lottery number. If you have any questions as to what your year of graduation currently is that will determine your lottery number check with the Office of the Registrar.
All students who pay their $300 deposit on time will receive their personal Lottery number via the StarRez Housing Portal. Students that receive a lottery number will either select or be placed in housing between mid-March and mid-April. Those who have not applied for alternative housing options will select their room on one of the selection dates in March or April.
Substance Free Living has an application process with applications through the StarRez Housing Portal prior to room selection. Substance Free Housing will be available in some pods of Holy Cross Hall. The number of rooms and pods of Substance Free Living are determined by the need seen by the number of applications for this type of housing.
Substance Free Living has an application process with applications due electronically to the Office of Residential Life and Education prior to Room Selection.
Applications will be reviewed and room placements will be assigned through e-mail if applicable.
Note: Substance Free Living has a contract and occupants will be required to sign as to their understanding and intent in abiding by the rules/regulations for the area.
Only students who have paid the Room Reservation Deposit on time will be allowed to participate in Room Selection and given a Lottery number. If your name does not appear on the list, your deposit was not received by the Office of Residential Life and Education by the deadline. Students putting in late deposits will receive lottery numbers on a space-available basis.
We do have limited single rooms to offer upperclassmen students in traditional halls across campus. You will need to apply for a single room through the Housing Selection process. If you apply by the deadline, you will be issued a timeslot to enter the StarRez Housing Portal and choose a space. After housing selection, anyone wanting to live in a single, but was unable to select one, may be placed on a single room waitlist for their gender.
Students requesting special consideration or a housing accommodation should fill out the appropriate paperwork available through the Disability Services Office. These forms must be submitted during Housing Lottery by the alternate housing process deadline to be considered for a pre-placement prior to general selection. A student with a special request is required to provide documentation to support their request (i.e. doctor’s note as appropriate, etc.) and is required to re-apply each year.
Housing accommodation requests that are approved prior to the above deadline will be assigned by the Office of Residential Life and Education BEFORE Room Selection. Housing assignment notifications will be sent through email and will have your housing assignment in it. All approvals received after the above deadline will be placed as space allows and may be waitlisted.
Once you receive your assignment, you will need to accept or decline the offer through the StarRez Housing portal. You will not be permitted to participate in any other Room Selection processes. If you choose to NOT accept the assignment, you will need to continue to participate in the Lottery/Room Selection process to be assigned to housing for next fall.
No, you may not hold a space in a room while you are not residing there. Every attempt will be made to accommodate your room request when you return in the Spring semester. You should contact the Office of Residential Life and Education during the Fall semester to make arrangements for your return to housing.
Students interested in a room change may submit a room change request to the Office of Residential Life and Education at residencelife@anselm.edu after the completion of the Room Selection process. Room changes will be accommodated on a space-available basis.
Housing Options can change from year to year based on the needs of our campus. For the most up-to-date comprehensive list of housing options you should refer to Housing Lottery and Room Selection marketing materials in your Saint Anselm email, and on the StarRez Housing Portal.
For more information we encourage you to attend one of the information sessions scheduled throughout the Housing Selection process (specific dates shared with your Saint Anselm email and the StarRez Housing Portal).
