Sheila Evjy ’74, H.D. ’19 and her husband Jack Evjy, M.D. have committed their lives to being there for each other, their patients, and the future of medicine. At the heart of all of this is Saint Anselm College.

While none of these gems are actually hidden, we highlight places and things you may walk by every day but never notice, or know the story behind.

First-generation students share why they chose Saint Anselm, and what their biggest challenges and successes have been along the way to becoming an Anselmian.

During my time teaching as a full-time professor in the fine arts department at Saint Anselm College, I have been grateful to receive three Fulbright awards to spend time teaching and doing research in various European countries.

We can’t think of a better way to conclude an issue dedicated to the women of the Hilltop than with a nod to the mural created by Jyl Dittbenner ’97 in collaboration with Saint Anselm community, staff, and students, which was dedicated last fall, and is displayed in the Jean Student Center. 

Titled “Commencement,” it represents beginnings, and the many great stories of women at Saint Anselm that are to come.
“This mural represents us,” says Dittbenner. “The women who came here for select programs. The women who work here and pray here. Women who taught here and ultimately learned here. It also represents the men and women who saw a necessity in the value of all of us together in co-education.”

The historic campaign exceeded expectations, helping transform the Hilltop for generations to come.

The impressive contributions of these faculty, staff, alumnae, and friends have helped define Saint Anselm College.
