The historic campaign exceeded expectations, helping transform the Hilltop for generations to come.

As an institution, we are guided by our Catholic and Benedictine mission and identity in which all human life is valued and all are worthy of the same dignity and respect. With this in mind, we have spoken with a collective voice in naming racism a social evil and embracing productive efforts to engage in positive change.

These faculty members provided a combined 314 years of service to the college upon their retirement last spring.

So much of the past year has been buffeted by Covid-19, and certainly that is true here on the Hilltop.

When he graduated from Saint Anselm College in 1934, Ernie Louis Thorne became the college’s first Black alumnus. From that time on, he became not only a memorable member of the Anselmian community, but also a vital part of Manchester.

The Center for Ethics in Society recently sponsored an in-depth reflection of Frederick Douglass’ extensive writings. A small group of students met four times in spring 2023 to study and contemplate ethical conversations about race and society.
