Ethics in Our World

The Center holds monthly gatherings open to the general public at various breweries in Manchester. Each gathering features a presentation of no more than 15 minutes by a Saint Anselm College faculty member or expert from the community on an important moral controversy, followed by 45 minutes of guided discussion.

In just a few years, today’s students will be leaders in our businesses, non-profits, communities, and government. We work with both college and high school students to teach the knowledge, skills, and values of ethical leadership, including and especially habits of thoughtful reflection, deliberation and civil discourse.

Students take drones – and ethics – to new heights

Saint Anselm College hosted sixteen high school students for an on-campus program where they learned how to build, program, and fly drones, along with taking part in ethical discussions about how modern technology affects our daily lives.

Students Participate in College Ethics Bowl

On Saturday, April 30, the Center for Ethics in Society hosted the Saint Anselm College Ethics Bowl. Six teams of students represented different clubs, organizations, and classes across campus.

Can Literature Improve or Corrupt Character? Discussion Recap

The most recent Ethics in Our World public discussion was led by Dr. Meg Cronin of the English Department at Saint Anselm College. The conversation centered around character, whether it is something that can be changed, and literature’s role (or lack thereof) in that process.

Building a Better New Hampshire

The Building a Better New Hampshire Roundtable Series offers discussions on matters of ethical interest to the business, nonprofit, and policy communities. Programs cover current statewide and local issues, innovative models for community growth and development, and ethical decision-making in business and governance.
