Approximately 30% of history majors pursue a career in teaching. Students interested in teaching grades 5-12 can pursue a double major in History and Secondary Education. The Secondary Education major cannot be earned alone; it must be paired with a major in a content area such as History. Students have an advisor in each department and spend the second semester of their senior year student teaching in a local public or private school. Students graduate with a B.A. and teacher certification in social studies or ESOL through the state of New Hampshire. Summer school is for students who are eager to fulfill their core learning requirements, enroll in interesting electives, or catch up on class credit. Students who take advantage of Saint Anselm's academic opportunities in the summer gain the ability to explore potential majors while staying on track for graduation.

Such information may be disclosed by the college, at its discretion, as outlined in the annual notification.
