Ethics in Our World

The Center holds monthly gatherings open to the general public at various breweries in Manchester. Each gathering features a presentation of no more than 15 minutes by a Saint Anselm College faculty member or expert from the community on an important moral controversy, followed by 45 minutes of guided discussion.

Ethics Week

The Center for Ethics hosted its first Ethics Week on campus this year (April 4-8, 2022). The week consisted of four events: a Zoom discussion about willful blindness, a viewing and discussion of the movie Gattaca, a public discussion on whether war can ever be just at XO Bistro in Manchester, and an Ethics Circle discussion on campus about whether forgiveness can ever be wrong.

Executive Director Featured on Northeast Delta Dental Radio

Center for Ethics Executive Director Max Latona was recently featured on Northeast Delta Dental Radio, hosted by Tom Raffio. Latona discussed the Center's mission, the importance of considering ethical issues for businesses both big and small, and the need for authenticity in ethical leadership.

Ethics and Spirituality: A Wisdom Lecture Series

Ethics is often discussed in terms of fixed rules and principles, but it can also be understood as a set of guidelines for growth and self-transformation. In this lecture series offered by the Center for Ethics in Society, we explore some of these guidelines as offered by the world’s great spiritual traditions. Whether we understand spirituality as deepening of our relationship with the divine, growing our compassion for one another, or simply as an awakening of our innermost potential, we can learn from those teachers who have walked the path before us.
