Share the joy of giving thanks for all we have by contributing a Thanksgiving dinner basket for local families in need. Each year students, staff, and faculty come together to join in this campus-wide project that unites the College community like no other event. Baskets are distributed by Catholic Charities of New Hampshire. Contribute a basket yourself or join in with roommates, dorms, teams, colleagues, departments, or other groups!
This year we will be collecting baskets for Catholic Charities and foster care families in greater Manchester. Baskets can be dropped off on Monday, Nov 22 between 8-10am to the Abbey Church, which will lead into our Blessing Ceremony at 10:30am.
All contributors—even last-minute contributors—are strongly encouraged to sign up so we can properly estimate and distribute the baskets.
Thank you for your generosity!
Preparing your Thanksgiving Basket
Each basket should provide a Thanksgiving meal for 5 to 8 people.
- 1 basket (many provide a laundry basket, which is especially practical)
- 1 Turkey
- Stuffing
- Vegetables
- Gravy
- Desserts/mixes
In past years, many donors have been exceedingly creative, generous, and thoughtful with the baskets they donated. Among past gifts you may want to consider providing as you prepare your own baskets:
- A greeting card signed by you and/or your group
- Tablecloths
- Cloth napkins
- Balloons
- Centerpieces/decorations
- Serving utensils (including carving knives: but please package them safely)
- Gift cards
Feel free to add your own unique items!
- Please do not include any items with alcohol or ice cream in your basket.
